I love how when you wear a dress people always comment on how put together you look, when in reality (at least for me) it’s normally because you didn’t have the brainpower to pick out more than one piece of clothing. Ez pz lemon squeezy AND I can fool people into thinking I have it together? Done and done.
It’s also no secret that I love to get things on sale at the end of the season, so here are a few of my favorite clearance dresses (and jumpsuits) from ASOS and Nordstrom that you can easily transition from summer to fall (or if you live in VA, morning when its 50 degrees to afternoon when its 90).
Hinge floral print dress. This print is even better in person — I love the unexpected combo of the baby blue and red, and I’m always a sucker for buttons down the front. Throw a jean jacket and booties on and you’re ready to head to the pumpkin patch to pretend it actually feels like fall. This runs large – size down.
ASOS Design v neck mini dress. I adore a pleat and I also adore feeling like I’m wearing pajamas so this is the perfect dress for me. It’s true to size but a little on the shorter side, so size up if you want the hem to come down further.
ASOS Peplum mini shirt dress. This shirt dress makes me feel like Blair Waldorf which is all I really want in life. You could roll the sleeves and wear it with wedges for a summer look, or layer it with a sweater and pair it with boots for some fall vibes. True to size.
Eliza J polka dot wide leg jumpsuit. If you think people will think you’re fancy in a dress, put on a jumpsuit. They act like you are ready for the red carpet. This one is so good. The material is thicker which makes it appropriate for cooler weather. Be forewarned, when they say wide leg they mean WIDE leg. It’s true to size but if you’re between sizes, go up.
Faithfull The Brand wrap midi dress. This one is the splurge out of the bunch but it reminds me of the skirt that Sally Owens is wearing in Practical Magic when the kids throw away the syrup at brunch (if you haven’t seen it what are you doing with your life?) and as a child I absolutely idolized that outfit so I had to have this. It did not disappoint. I’m excited to pair it with a leather jacket to contrast the feminine feel of the dress. True to size.
Missguided tall tie jumpsuit. So often with jumpsuits either the hip/butt area is too small or the waist is too big, and this one has the perfect balance. The tie gives it interest without being too fussy and light blue is my jam. My only qualm is that it’s tall, and therefore the legs are six inches too long on me buuut I think it’s worth hemming. True to size but if you’re between sizes, go up.
